Gurmadqaran

Catalyzing Systemic Transformation in Somali Governance

An intellectual and civic forum dedicated to principled leadership, evidence-based policy solutions, and a new social contract for a united future.

About Gurmad Qaran

Gurmad Qaran was established in 2024 by a group of twelve distinguished Somali professionals and scholars who recognized that Somalia's recurring crises required a fundamentally new approach. These founding members, representing diverse professional backgrounds and geographic origins, shared a profound concern about the trajectory of their nation and a conviction that intellectual leadership could catalyze the systemic change that conventional politics had failed to achieve.

Our organization emerged from a critical need to bridge the gap between civil society and policy-making institutions. We believe that an informed and active citizenry is the bedrock of a prosperous nation. Through research, advocacy, and community programs, we aim to empower individuals and institutions alike.
